Ive had this problem for a little while, i havent touched it because things seem to go in and out on this piece of shit i call a car... but this is just getting worse.

Whenever i lock the car doors, i get this obnoxious whine. Not something small, that only i can hear from the inside... a whine that stops traffic because someone driving by thinks they hit a cat.

before i dig into the door, i was wondering if i could get some possible suggestions as to what could be causing this. I was thinking about just pulling the plug on the auto lock and just manually locking it when i needed.

there was a recall on the 02's where the latch's at the rear would fail... call your local dealer and check to see if your cars on that recall list and they will replace the rear doors latch
