I used V-LEDS so I don't have to worry about it overheating. It is also powered by parking lights 12v so it's not a problem in case I forget to shut it off.

Not on the US model. You would need the euro tail lights along with a European wiring harness as US harness is missing 2 wires to the rear light harness.

I would like to know where Ford put the Rear Fog Light on the european model Focuses. If you look closely at the dash where the lights show on, on the left side is the frt fog lights, and if you look close on the right is an embossment of the rear. Where are they mounted and where do I get some?[?]
Yes, the German Focus for sale in MX has it!

Check the light knob...

And voila... There's no foglight... But there's a rear foglight installed

Try using this VIN to order parts

To make this functional in the US you need a European Harness as the US one is missing the wiring needed for it to work so just changing components won't work. In europe the headlight swith has a button for front and also for rear fog lights.

I have been watching this discussion for a while now and thought I'd offer my 2¢.
USDM Focus have parts/switches modeled for the 'world car'. So, Euro stuff will fit over here, and visa-verse. It's just some features are not turned on, or wired. The Focus headlamp switch, as long as it has the Front fog light icon indicated on the switch will work, but a little rewiring is needed. If you take the headlamp switch out of the dash, and pull the multi-pin plug away from the switch, and get a flash light.
Look at the back of the switch, and at the bottom of the pins is an alpha-numeric system assigned to the pins. For the fog lights, F and R is assigned 58a, and 58b.
Don't remember which is which, but a little continuity tester, etc. will work for you.
Simply run a wire from 'a', or 'b' to your lamp and you should be good to go. GL
If you look up Daniel Stern, not the actor, he has written extensively on lighting in
European cars, and about fog lights. Google him. GL

For the rear foglights, front electronic adjustment there are wires not installed on US/north American cars. So just changing a switch will not allow it to work

Hi, often abused though and a real driving hazard when left on in perfect conditions.
Chris
^^^ This! Lots of people driving Euro cars (VW, Audi, MB) with the rear fog on all the time. Either being dough bags or just don't know the difference.

what type of wiring would i need to make it all work?
You need a euro wiring diagram to know where to connect at the BCM and where in rear...or run a different switch for it

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but my brain was "Out to Lunch" while I meandered around ebay today, and I came across UK inner taillights (the trunk ones).. So I started looking to see what bulbs were used, ETC...

And I discovered something.... turns out, according to the UK owners manual (really not sure how I missed it EVERY other time ive looked), the outer part of the taillight is turn/tail/fog and the inner is brake/reverse... so, does that mean that our "brake" light is actually supposed to be a rear fog? Or is the inner part supposed to be the fog, and the manual has a misprint?
Link to manual: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/pubs/content/~WOCFOC/~MGB~LEN/pdf/GBEN12FOCog2e.pdf

Shows on page 61....
