I have a 2001 zts that the rear axle is bent on. I am thinking I will need to replace the axle. It looks like someone was backing up at a high rate of speed and hit something that bent the axle right in the middle. I was wondering if anyone has done this job before and had any advise. I was also wondering what years had the same axle. Any advise would be appricated.

they don't have rear axles... so I'm not really sure what's bent. is it right in the middle?

are you talking about the arm that holds the rear springs in place?

Yes, it is right in the middle of the rear wheels. It might not be a traditional axle as far as a drive shaft goes, but it is an axle like a trailer axle.

that was 10 seconds of searching so im sure if you dig around you can find one for cheaper...make sure you check everything else out also its really close to your camber arms and those things are flimsy as hell

If its right in the middle of the rear wheels then its the rear subframe thats bent, not one of the arms.

yeah now that I read it it does sound like the subframe is what hes talking about....maybe dropped it on a jack stand or something

not like a trailer axle either but.... doesn't matter.

subframes aren't to bad to do on these and you can easily find one on a junkyard vehicle otherwise I believe they sell them online as well.
