when im driving and just trying to follow people
on a 'closed course'
lets say i ll be in 2nd or 3rd and
i will floor it and it takes forever for the rpms to get up there.
im talking from 2k rpm to 5k rpm or so
it takes a while for it rev from 2 to 5.

Are you doing like 10mph in 2nd/3rd gear? That's your problem [] Also 1st and 2nd gears are really tall so they do take a bit of time to go all the way up the RPM range.

My first thought was DSI (not VCT... different system), but like Lee said, if you're trying to rev from 2k rpm in 3rd gear, it's going to be slow.

If it's REALLY slow, to the point where the engine seems like it has problems, it's possible your DSI is stuck in short runner mode.

How do you know it's not the DSI??
When the cable breaks, or the clip breaks it will stick on the short runners.
^^^Which will kill the power under 5,000 rpm.

and as for the power loss...does the power come back when you get past 5000rpm

Yeah power will come back after abt 5500 rms and above. it varys year to year tune to tune.

If the cable and clip are not it, it could be the DSI motor correct guys?

Did you get a scan tool yet or are we just going to keep starting post where people guess what the problem is , what is this the 4th post about this ?
