I have made my own Ram Air Duct like described in the how-to. I have the SVT intake snorkel and airbox. I was wondering, if I removed the airbox resonator and blocked it off, would that help create more of a "Ram Air" setup or would it just cause some airflow problems? I thought the resonator was just there to reduce the intake noise, but I have also come across threads that state it does provide some necessary airflow for performance reasons. Anybody know?

Did you keep the stock ZETEC lower half of the filter box, or did you install the SVT box? The SVT box doesn't really have a resonator. Its got an S shaped pipe that comes out of it, and based on what I (think) read from Mike at Hilbish, this S shaped pipe is a key component to the SVT box's performance gains.

It's the whole SVT box... so the S-shaped piece was there when I got it, but I have since removed it.
