Hi All, I was wondering if any of you Focus owners have problems with the radiator cooling down.

The car is overheating in idle. Goes up to 252F and the fan in front of the radiator kicks in, but then it stops.
The technician thinks it is a switch that is bad. I have no clue.

Anyone have problems with this and had it fixed? Thanks in advance!

At what temp does the fan kick in? In other words, does the fan start before the engine overheats, then stops and so the engine overheats, or does the engine overheat first and then the fan comes on for a little while then goes off before doing much good?

Car overheating

The fan kicks in about 240 and turns off at about 252. Mechanic thinks it's the cooling sensor.

(BTW, the air compressor is shot - he said it needed a hose, cumulator and compressor - $800 - this car is killing me.)

Thank you!
