[Spazasm]

I drive an 03 SVT with about 75K miles on it. My rack has been leaking for a while now. I put a few bottles of Lucas powersteering leak stop in it but all I got was sticky spots on my garage floor. Its time to get a new rack. Ford quoted me the part at $460 not including labor. That seems a bit steep for parts alone. Anyone ever had to replace their rack. If so where did you get the parts? I am also not opposed to buying a rebuilt rack. Any help would be great

steering rack

I never had to replace mine but I did swap it put for the svt rack. it was less hassle to drop the cross member than to not. so I don't seem like I did a lot of work for nothing it was during a complete svt motor and transmission swap as well as auto to manual swap

So other than different ratios, the racks are a direct match for both SVT and Non-SVT's? How would a non-SVT rack change the steering?

from what i understand the non svt rack and pinion is faster and more likely to oversteer
