im gettin a new amp for my subwoofer...my sub is a 10' mtx sledgehammer with enclosure...theres one on ebay item number 150003552586

how many watts should the amp have? rms or max? i have an infinity amp and it doesnt handle it....any suggestions?

I'd get a 600 watt, like a 2 channel, and bridge it to 1. RMS wattage would be at least 250, depending on the amp.

Which infinity amp is it? Is it small, like a 60 watt or something?

yeah, that sub is rated 300w RMS, and it states 150-300 watts recommended

I'd say more like 250-400 RMS watts. More is better with subs. You don't need to use all of the power, so that gives you headroom, control, and a cooler running amp.

It's a single 4 ohm sub, so you need an amp that produces the RMS power at 4 ohms. It can be a mono or bridged 2ch amp.

Suggestions are based on your budget.

i ended up getting an eclipse 100watts max mono...i believe its around 480rms 4ohm...problem is im still gettin the problem where my amp will turn off and my subs stopped workin...they checked all wiring and power to the amp and it was fine...i wonder wat the problem is
