I have the stock SVT air intake with a H/F K&N filter. What would cause oil to come up through the bottom of the air box where the little piece of spongy thing (for lack of better word). I forget what the tube is called, but it runs to the engine. I had the same problem in Germany, but it was on my '87 Mercedes 290E and never got it looked at. It is not a lot of oil, but it is enough that is was on my air filter when I cleaned it last. Also I'm missing the little spongy thing. Anything I can use for a replacement?

you should have the spongy thing.

it is the filter to part of your PCV system. it vents the cam cover. during use, the engine creates a oil mist. this hose will let the mist breathe. this mist gets caught in the spongy thing so it doesnt get on your filter or crud up your MAF.

its really just a simple piece of foam. you could use a car wash sponge or maybe bedding foam or pillow foam. just cut it a bit larger than the hole to fit. i say this to insure that it stays put.

yeah just use something that will allow air to get though, but catch oil when it tries to leave, like Scrammer said
