I had a similar issue with the wipers on my '03. Traced it down to a bad ground. Cleaned off both cables mounted to the inner aprons, problem solved. (cleaned the pigtails first of course).
Thats what I was going to mention also, grounds. Great to do the big3.

I’ve cleaned and tightened all my grounds in the engine bay and I’m about to replace my positive cable. I’m just missing this piece.

The whole crimp? That's one whole peice that's a crimp on the cable. How is it missing? What is currently. Holding your wire? You can get just a regular O ring crimp...

That look ugly.

Get some nice automotive audio grade cable (6 or 4 awg) and replace that. Get some high grade copper o-ring crimps and crimp and solder them and put heat shrink sleeving over that mess. (I always put some black RTV before I heat shrink over external wires to "potting" them).

Also get some high grade copper post to put on the battery.
