is the svt cat made up of 2 small cats ,
one under the oil pan and one after the 2nd os2 sensor
going up the back of the motor ????

so if its made of 2 cats i was thinking to cut it open and take out the
second cat , kinda making a high flow cat ...
would this work ,cause im a welder so the work is not a problem
to me...

i think that you will have a CEL, but i dont see why not, but you can also fab a orp

If I had better welding skills and equipment, I would fab a HFC. You need to stay legal for Calyfornia. Get a HFC and some mandrel bent SS pipe and weld one up.

If you cut any part of it out you risk not being able to pass emissions.

It's all one part, after the second o2 sensor, it's simply attached to the flex pipe, the flex pipe could be mistaken for a cat, but it's just simply that, a flex pipe, that allows the exhaust some give.....

no i know its got one cat but im what i ment is.does the cat have 2 sections of the catalysts stuff one under the oil pan and one up the back of the motor ..see pic

No cat at all, and you should have no problem with the sniffer pipe part of emission test. Tac weld the heat shield on to a straight pipe (ORP) and this should pass visual test. These cars are sooo low, and CEL can be fixed with the cheater plug that comes with most ORPs.

don't do no cat. cali doesnt mess around with that stuff.

get a CFM high flow cat or the RT. its legal, it will pass emissions. thats the best way to do it. otherwise you are risking screwing yourself.
