hey, i was wondering, did you at Leo Capaldi racing build your spec foci?

i am planning on tearing my car completely apart and removing the airbox/heater assembly from under the dash and welding up all the holes.

did you do this or have any info on it?

im just trying to gauge and see what it involves... are there any hidden bolts>? how much weight do guage it at?

how did you plug the holes? weld them or does ford actually have plugs for the Non a/c cars?

You will need to remove the IP disconnect the ac lines and bypass the heater core. There are some bolts that will need to be remove on the fire wall on the engine bay side. You will save about 20 lbs + the ac compressor ac lones and condenesor.

are you running a dummy pulley in place of the compressor or a shorter belt?


and was their a specific coolant hose to bypass the heater core? ive seen some people with honda's that found a u-bend that worked, have you come across that for our heater core size on the focus?

and a related question.... did you keep the PCM and GEM's in their stock location or move them ?
