OK, my car is suffering from a rough idle and this carries over even while driving to an extent. So I am looking under the hood to see if I notice anything and I see a wiring harness that is cut in two. Maybe it's supposed to be, I don't know so I thought I would ask. Engine is the SPI. The wiring harness is just behind the coil pack, I guess, as I know it's no longer a distribuitor. It's behind where the plug wires go, the harness is four wires and the connector is grey in color. Connected to a ?, square in shape and bolted to the engine. Sort of under the air intake tube. Someone has cut it in two, about 2 inches from the connecter.

Very sorry for the bad discription, but it was dark in a k-mart parking lot! Car is all stock and if needed when it is light I will post a photo. I have an engine light on too, but it has been on forever lol! Anyway if anyone could tell me if it should be this way or what it is for I would appreciate it.

Post a pic, that will help a lot. I never owned a SPI Focus but I did own a 99' Escort with the SPI and I am sure there are many similarities.
