Is this normal for temp needle points to mid-point even cold start. Is it suppose to rise slowly according to thermostat reading?

No. Mine starts all the way at the bottom. It does rise faster than my other car, but then it has a much smaller engine.

I am wondering if the bottom point of the thermostat is supposed to be like cold cold. freezing?
Agree the temp is up to running within moments of start.

My SVT would pump out heat in winter sub zero outside temps within a half dozen blocks of start. i am hoping for the same results from my Focus!
