It's 36 degress and raining. On my way to work today, the check engine light came on and the temp guage plummeted. The heater had been pumping out hot air, it cooled as well. When I slowed down as I exited the interstate, I noticed it wasn't running smoothly. As I accelerated away from the stop sign, it felt as if only 3 cyliders were firing. I was on the interstate driving for ~25 miles and only had a few more to go so I limped it into work.

The car is a 2001 focus 2.0 auto.

I am new to the Focus and have had this car since July and it has ran fine til now. What could it be? Will it make it the 30 miles home tonight?

Thanks
Justin

sounds like more than 1 wasn't firing and when it gets down to the 30s where I live it makes my temp go up and down

I changed out the coil pack and it runs fine now. Coolant temp stayed normal on the way home. Plugs and wires will be tomorrow. Hopefully that is the end of it.
