Progress Sway Bar for $78.50 a Summit Racing

Decided to get a Progress rear bar as my my first mod, and when I did a metacrawler search, it came up with Summit Racing, which is a company that has given me great service before. When I looked at the price, I was pleasantly suprised. $88.45 shipped.

^^^Yep. Heck of a good price.
Just got mine delivered on Tuesday. [:D]
It's still the old color though...turquoise. The newer ones are black.
No difference between the 2, just the color.

I'm painting mine (or having it powder coated) black.

You sir are correct...gunmetal. [;)]
Was just going by a pic I saw, but I now see they list the color as gunmetal.
Why on earth did they make them turquoise in the first place?? [confused]

wd Your gonna like that one! alot
Oh yeah?! [thumb]
I'll be testing it out this weekend at Top Gun. [:D]
You were just getting too damn close for comfort. LOL!

I don't know, but when I got mine a long long time ago, the first thing I did was had it powder coated an almost gunmetal color. So much better!

I've been really impressed with how much stuff Summit has been carrying for the Focus lately. Their showroom is about 20 minutes away from where I live, and for a long time if you didn't have a muscle car or Honda they didn't have anything.

Sorry for the hijacking...

^^^Thanks for the encouragement and the props! [thumb]
Yep...3rd overall by 1 friggin' point. [?|]
Damn that GS class being larger than STS, hence more finishing points to the current 2nd place contender.

And, barely 15 minutes later...installed.

NOTE:
You'll see in the pic that I installed the OEM brackets on top of the supplied Progress brackets.
After lots of reading here and on FJ, it's a fairly universal conclusion that they should be installed in this manner,
as the supplied brackets are rather suspect if left on their own.
The instructions mention to "Utilize OEM hardware to attach brackets".
Well, they give you new bolts leaving only the OEM brackets.
Regardless, it fits like a glove and I highly doubt there will be any bracket failures with this installation.

Road test is yet to come.
Couldn't feel much this morning, other than the rear end feels much "tighter" in the turns...less body roll.
The true test will be on the track this weekend for a 2 day AutoCross. [:D]

Yup, gotta love that color. I thought you were going to get it powder coated.

Still a wonderful bar though.

^^^Added some notes above...

As much as I hate the color, powder coating will have to wait a bit.
I'm too anxious to test this thing out this weekend. [;)]

You do agree about the bracket mounting, don't you?

Sorry for the slight hi-jacking, but I figured you could use the pics and tips.
I still can't believe the price that Summit is selling these for. [thumb]

Yes, I utilized the stock brackets. I can't rememver if I double-braketed with the Progress ones, or just use the OEM ones. The Progress ones just look small and weak.

Oh snap ! I didn't notice that in the instructions. I didn't have an OEM bar so all I have is the Progress supplied brackets........<running to the phone>

Seriously though, no issues so far but I haven't raced it either.
