Hey I have removed all the bolts on my valve cover except for this one, closest to the front bumper of the car. I can't get the valve cover off with it there and I don't know how to remove or loosen this metal bracket that it's attached to.

None of the zetec engines I've seen in instructional videos have this bracket. Anyone able to help?

I think I know the bracket you are talking about.

You have to loosen or totally remove (I can't remember which I did) the engine lift on the right end of that bracket.

If anyone has a video or guide to doing that it would be very helpful

I tried loosening it but it still doesn't want to move. Maybe I missed a part to unscrew I dunno.

I found a photo I took while replacing my VC gasket.

You loosen the two bolts shown in the photo and slide the shield out from behind the engine lift.

I wonder what that bracket is for? Heat deflection issue like the small one on the stat housing?

It is just an additional heat shield.

It is on some Zetec engines and not others....go figure!
