My focus is a 2012 SE with almost 101,000 miles. I have had 3 clutch replacements and a few more clutch "cleaning" sessions. The problem is I am now out of any warranty period and I need a more reliable car that is safer for my 2 kids.

Looking at the settlement, I can either sell my car independently and receive the $2,500 in the mail more than a year from now, or try for arbitration through Tennessee lemon laws. I do not know how low these cars are selling due to the transmission issues. Can anyone share their experiences with the arbitration process and how the buyback value is determined?

If you sell it private party I'll doubt you'll sell it for more than $6000. You can try to get $5000. If you go to a dealership you'll probably won't get more than $3000. I recommend looking at KBB.com and check there
