The engine chokes when the accelerator is depressed, the power comes in "steps" and it feels like the engine chokes until it reaches high RPMs. Sudden acceleration is almost impossible if the accelerator is not pressed all the way. Regular maintenance is up to date, intake manifold was cleaned of carbon deposits, mass flow sensor was replaced in the last year. Fuel consumption is high. Any suggestions?

sure sounds like a maf sensor to me. try cleaning it with the specific maf cleaner you can get at parts stores, etc. let it dry real good before you hook it back up. reset the ecu while you are doing it. its a cheap fix, worth a shot.

did you clean your intake while it was off the car or on the car with a spray/additive? it could have clogged your plugs. check em if my first suggestion doesnt work.

the last thing i would try is the TPS.
