How do you guys go about keeping your cars in tip-top shape during deployment and what do you do to restore the thing when you get back and things just don't look the same as it was when you left?

Put it up on jacks, disconnect the battery entirely.
That's kinda the standard set up for long term storage.

Couldn't tell you much more than that.

If you're going to be gone for a long time throw some fuel stabilizer in the gas tank, and some oil stabilizer in as well. I've seen cars with cardboard taped on all the windows to keep the UV from damaging the interior but then you have tape residue to deal with so I'm not a huge fan.

Thankful to have a wife to watch over mine, but jackstands and a battery tender are a great idea, find that dude in your unit who doesn't use his garage and offer him some money.

I'd say fuel stabilizer in the gas tank and change the oil when you get back.
