I'm going to be buying a replica spoiler and need to paint it. I have a buddy with the gear but don't know how much paint to get. I've never painted other than plasti dip rims and primer bumper on my Explorer. Would a pint suffice or do I need a whole quart? I found a good site that sells matched paint (I have Tuxedo black so not hard to find the hue) bit the quart is almost a hundred dollars while the pint is fifty. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would say just get a quart. A quart gives you the wiggle room to make corrections and touchups if the painting doesn't got as planned (dust, runs, etc.). That way it's less stress to get it perfect the 1st time and less worry about running out in the middle of the process (because you will waste some cleaning the equipment).

As long as you seal the can good after use, and keep it from freezing it should last a long while if you need it for painting other small items.
