got this fault on my st170

I have change the intake runner control unit with a new one but the fault still comes up.


took inlet manifold out and checked everything seams to be working OK in there.

runs lumpy when trying to push when warm, wont rev above 4k either.

Any ideas as to why this is the case,

Did you make sure that the shaft was freed up before you installed the new IMRC? Your problem might be mechanical not electrical, but you should explore all options. Trace the wiring harness down to see if there is any damage to it, and you should've reset the PCM after making the repair. To do that simply remove the negative battery terminal for 10 mins or so, then reinstall it. I also allow the engine to idle for 10 mins after that, or until the idle settles down to normal. Typically the PCM will perform an Air/Fuel test that will hold the idle high for 5-6 minutes. Once the 5 minute timed test is performed, the idle will drop to normal.
