I replaced thermostat and water pump. It's running alot hotter than it used to before pump went out. I've heard conflicting things about burping in a thread. One says do it, another says it's not needed. Do I need to burp it? If so, how?[wrenchin]
After your car is warmed up feel all the radiator hoses. If one or more is not piping hot then your coolant is not circulating.
What motor do you have? Mine is a duratec and to refill the coolent after any draining I have to remove the upper radiator hose where it connects to the thermostat housing and pour coolant into the hose until it comes out of the block. Then put it back together, fire it up, and it burps automatically using the reservoir.
I don't know if it's relevent, but thats the V.I.N. engine code.... My car has SE badges, but I have had problems at the part store using SE... I had to tell them the engine code to get the right parts... Apparently it's different...
