I am new to this forum and I want to say thank you in advance for any help that you give me. I have a 2006 Ford focus ZX5. When I go to start the car in the morning sometimes it fires right up then dies. No fast idle. I have to hold the gas pedal down to keep it from dying. I then start down the street and I feel a surge and the fast idle kicks in and I can take my foot off the gas pedal at the end of my street and it stays running. Idle then smoothies out as the engine warms up. Car has 103K miles. Original spark plug and wires. I know these need to be replaced. This started happening only in rainy or damp weather but now it happens in all weather conditions. Any ideas? Thanks! I forgot to mention that the check light is off. No codes set as far as I know.

Time to open the hood, you'll find there are no wire to replace when you do the plugs & attempt to clean that IAC.
