OK so I was sitting there talking with my friend about out SVTs and he look at mine funny and walks over and kicks the side skirt. I am like WTF why you do that. Then it comes to me. I dont have damn SVT sides, call my friend aaron, neither does he. Ok I can deal with that maybe there is a reason: till I do a search and find they fit without an issue. OK I guess im ok with that even though the ZX5 was more than the ZX3.

Ok so I go and look in a 2 door EAP a few days later. Umm ok so why dont zx5's have perforated leather in the door inserts? Another WTF? My doors just have the plactic in them with no insert once so ever. WTF?

I feel kinda slighted? Am I alone here or not?

Ummm, the sideskirts rise up too high in the rear and will interfere with the back doors opening.

Not sure about the door panels as I have a ZX3, but you can get the material (v6focus has it) to cover the inserts

They have to be modified a bit to fit, and it would be very easy to knock them off...I didn't say it was impossible for them to be on there, just that they wouldn't fit out of the box

That's completely different than "they wouldn't fit out of the box".

My friend has a set of SVT sideskirts that I have looked into having mounted on my car. I know what needs to be done to get them to fit. Yes they will fit, NO they do not interfere with the rear door....

We got way better speakers in the back - you guys got co-ax and we got plate speakers with separate woofers and tweeters - like the front door ones. [8D]

We also got rear windows that actually go down.

We can retrofit the skirts. You can get better speakers. The windows are the way they are, though.

Not true. Though we can never roll our rear windows down without some serious custom moding ,we can buy a pop out kit so they open like the rear windows on the freestar. Though from what I understand if you don't install them carefully they will leak.Not worth it to me. I don't ever sit back there anyway.

The high end freestar and the mercury monterey have them. You could probley source some parts from them. That would be a nice touch. I wouldn't do it because I know it would be a disaster if I tried.

I saw it on ebay, but from what I understand what you need to doit your self are the latches, hinges some universal window striping, sealent, and a hole lot of time and paitcents.I have a friend who did it to his MK2 Gti . He said the hardest part was getting the glass out with out breaking it.It only cost him about $75.00 in material.If anyone on here does attempt this converstion ,please post the how to.
