to my knowledge i do not think there is a gasket for the oil pan is there?....isnt it the rtv seal or something of another?....i need a conformation for this plz

Correct, its just silicone sealer

if youre doing the job yourself, use Motorcraft TA-31 sealer when you put it back together. if the dealer says thats for a diesel, tell thats ok, thats what you want. It works the best.

If you don't use what B16 suggested, at least use Permatex 'Ultra Grey'

It's available anywhere, and one of the best for applications that don't use a gasket.

Good advise scott, thats just about the same thing. Ford designed this sealer for use on the 7.3L diesels oil pans. It doesnt leak, ever, lol.

Yeah.. Honda uses one that's similar, before Permatex came out with the Ultra Grey, I used to use the Honda stuff on everything (ok that probably shows my age a bit...)

We always used the golriila snot weather stripe adhisive, until the ultra gray.... Age -vs- tech...
