While crawling under the car removing the resonator, I looked up and saw that I have a small oil leak. It looks to be dripping off the hoses that are attached to the thermostat housing. I did not investigate further cause it was late. Has anyone seen leaks in this area? Is it possibly coming from the valve cover?
Thanks,
Dan

Moved to "Ford Focus Technical Chat".

I'm betting coolant as well, leaking from the o-ring on the thermostat housing (bottom side).
See here for pics, where to check, and how to fix it:

Now, it could very well be the valve cover, but it's usually the coolant about 7 out of 10 times.

First off, I'd clean/dry the area off, and see what it looks like after a day or two to nail down the exact area where the leak is coming from.
The gold coolant (which I'm sure your car has) is easily mistaken for clean oil, especially if you just changed it.

if it is oil (and not coolant) its porbably the valve cover. the gasket is like 20 or 30$ and you can DIY easy. I would fix it soon, otherwise the oil might wreck the gasket or the body of the thermostat housing

I cleaned the area and will inspect it after a few miles of use. I don't think it is the coolant as the resivoir looks ok. I will monitor.

^^^The leak from the o-ring on the thermostat housing is not overly taxing on the system.
It's only a drip here and there (at first), so you won't really notice it at the degas tank.

You can tell pretty quick by tasting a bit (a very little bit) on the end of your tongue...
If it's sweet, it's anti-freeze.
If it's bitter, it's oil.
And...clean your mouth when you're done. [eek] [;)]

I ordered some of the metric o-rings from McMaster. I checked again and I appear to be leaking from the valve cover. Oh, and it did not taste sweet! LOL So I will have the o-rings just in case.
