This is sorta more of an FYI.

I use to own a 2002 Dodge neon and always used PL10241 Purolator oil filters, guess what thats the same one the 2012 Focus uses! Now I know the Focus was meant to be mine! All I did was go to amazon.com and search oil filters for a 2002 Neon and you get alot of options! I did my first oil change with the filter left from Neon and it fits perfectly. Hope this helps some people.

Here is the 2012 filter # at Purolator filters http://www.purolatorautofilters.net/resources/Pages/ApplicationGuideResults.aspx?mid=35&modid=958&yid=91&make=FORD&model=Focus&year=2012

Once I get back from the cabin this weekend I'll post pics of the FoMoCo filter that I took off. Looks like the crimp where the "shell" meets the base was bad. filter had oil on it and the engine cover you take off for the oil change had oil on it too. I'm glad I did the oil change when I did.
