Put a dead pedal in, maybe that will help you keep your foot off the clutch.

just drive in a ton of rush hour traffic and you will be on and off the clutch so much it wont matter!
But yah you probably should not rest it there if you can.

that and it barely takes any pressure on it to "cancel" the cruise if you have it and are using it.
