(We always opt for the Annual National Parks Pass good for all the Nat Parks for a year,
since we usually get up to Glacier a few times as well)

DISCUSSION AND IDEAS

1) Schedule.
Meet/greet on Saturday and get rooms.
(The IMAX has a great parking lot to use as a common meeting point.)
There's an Imax, Museum, and a Grizzly Bear and Wolf Discovery Center right in West Y.
if anyone wants to take in those attractions.
Do we want to take a quick trip into the park? (It's never "quick")
How about getting everyone together for dinner?
Sunday would be the mega fOCUS cruise through Yellowstone?

2) Arrival Routes.
It was discussed earlier that folks coming from the East and South could meet up in Sheridan, WY on Friday night.
Leave early Saturday and take the scenic route into the north entrance of Yellowstone, then converge with everyone else in West Y.

For the north and west folks, we're kind of wide open at this point.
We could meet/stay in Idaho Falls, ID on Friday night, then carravan up HWY 20 and into West Y.

3) What's everyone want to see in the Park?
We've been to most spots, so I could put together a nice route to get the most out of a day of cruising.


Let's get some ideas!

RANDOM THOUGHTS

My wife and I will most likely take Friday and Monday off, to make this into a mini-vacation.
That means we'd stay in West Y for both Saturday and Sunday nights,
and Friday in Idaho Falls if there's some WA, ID folks heading out.
Haven't made reservations yet, but more than likely, we'll get a room at the Kelly Inn or the Gray Wolf Inn and Suites in West Y.

NOTE
There is NO SPEEDING allowed in the Park!!
Sheriffs and Park Rangers are rather abundant.
Don't even think about exceeding the posted 45mph limit.

idaho falls would be easier for me than sheriden time & distance wise. as far as hotel I'm pretty open.
about how much are the rooms at the grey wolf inn, couldn't get a room price from the link?
a couple of the others weren't to bad either.
I think dinner & drinks would be a good idea , nothing like a couple, (1.2..4..10..?) margareta's b4 heading back to the motel after a long drive [] !
Silly question , but does anyone know if there is a local cruise scene on the weekends there?

ill be getting motel reservations shortly in sheridan for friday night for those that want to meet me there. ill post the motel sometime this week. i may end up getting in late on friday night tho. ill post more later this week.

I've never been through the sheridon route b4, may start there, will have to wait to see how many of us are going to start from which point.[]

Kelly Inn is a great place.
Nice pool and hot tub, and rather substantial rooms for the price.
(nothing's cheap anymore in that town)

There's also good parking, and the Inn sits on the edge of town closer to the Park Entrance and visitor amenities/attractions.
All within walking distance.

If you haven't been on that Sheridan to Cooke City route, you're missing out!
We'll wait for the Northwest folks to chime in, before we decide which route we'll take into the park.

names & cars are right, scott is now also catless as of last month 3" up & down pipes with new turbo inlet pipe, but still not as loud as me. the corvette is getting blown sometime this summer or fall, powerdyne 9 psi ![]
I think it's time for me to start saving for FI, not going to spray. won't use often enough & i want constant power availb. all the time and be able to use in scca!![] need anouther job again[]

ok, for all those coming from the east. shadyr and i will be staying at the days in off of exit 25.
we will meet there sat morning the third at 9am sharp and leving shortly after.
those going to meet up with us there and cruise to yellowstone saturday morning, please pm me so i can get you my cell phone number and i can get yours.
also bring 2 way radios if you have them, cell coverage is about non existant in the mountains. that way if theres a breakdown the rest of us can stop and help out.
Ill shortly be making reservations in west yellowstone at the same place wd and the others are.

Glad you brought that up.
I think Old Faithful (immediate vicinity) is about the only place in the Park that cell phones will have coverage.
Radios will be a must. I'll bring both of mine.
