So I was out driving today and as I come up to a stop light I apply the brakes, and the engine revv all by itself, just all of the sudden as I was stopping, and it's only done the one time thus far.

Any ideas on why the engine would rev on its own?

Thanks

Idle Air Control Valve

Or IAC Valve...........usually gives those problems of random reving. Shouldn't be a issue if it happens once but if you have this problem just open your hood and find the valve which should be right on top and tap it with a hammer if it drops back down to normal IDLE then you know you have a stuck IAC Valve and would need to replace it.

Other then that i wouldn't worry about it too much, but you can always bring it to a dealer and ask if there is a later PCM CALIBRATION for that ISSUE.

This used to happen to me all the time until I got wise to it. In my case, if when I'm pressing on the brake pedal I angle my foot just so... my shoe just touches the edge of the accelerator pedal. I don't really feel it- I just hear the motor revving.

So could this be the case? Are you tall or have big feet?
