Having a bad day! Ok so my 2007 Ford Focus simply will not go into 3rd gear. I can drive it but as soon as it hits 45mph it starts to shake my O/D light flashes and it just revs. I know this can be fixed by changing a silinoid Im just not sure which one. I got the car home but when I went to drive it to advance and have the diagnostics run now it will not go into reverse???!!! Could this also be a silinoid issue???

Sounds like a solenoid issue but I would have the entire valve body checked if it's effecting your reverse gear too.

Thanks for the reply I will have the valve body checked just wanted to see if the solenoid would cause both the gear shift issue and reverse. Would hate to replace all of them to find out that it isnt the issue.

I would hook a code reader up to the car and see what it says. The car should be able to tell you what solenoid is bad.

Hmmm, have you checked your fluid level as per the directions in the owner's manual?
