I've done this.
It's relatively easy, if you know your way around a fusebox and have a basic grasp of electronics. I would highly recommend going with an OE-fitment power window cable assembly, over retrofit kits. Don't get me wrong, the retrofit kit I used was solid as a rock; it was way more solid than the stock crank mechanism that it eventually destroyed!
