I put in new shoes (rather, I sent it out to have new rear shoes put on)

and now my parking brake does nothing. How do I fix this?

Can you take it back and make them fix it.
or you can crawl under the car and adjust the star wheel and set the drag to the right specs and then it should work. Good luck

The parking brake cable or linkage was not installed or adjusted correctly. I agree that whomever did it should fix it as the job is not correct unless the p-brake functions correctly. If you must do it yourself there are lots of threads explaining how to do parking brake adjustments. "Search" is your friend.

Sounds like it's not hooked up at the brake shoe. It can be a PITA. Maybe they were in a hurry and said screw it.
