Hey guys, first off i just want to say that its awesome that I found a Forum dedicated our 2012 rides!! []

Anyway, I went to the dealership on Monday (Grand Ledge Ford in Grand Ledge, MI near Lansing) for the MyFord Touch update, everything seemed to to have gone smooth but after an hour of waiting in the lounge I knew something was wrong. The Tech guy who was working on my car said that the update was completed but everything was ass backwards. When he would press the radio button the navigation menu would pop up. When he would press the climate control button on the screen it would turn the radio off. I asked him if they're going to re-flash it and see if it cure's the issues, and he said yes, after another hour wait..everything was a go!

In my opinion the update seemed to have been more of a stability update. The screen still has tremendous lag which is very disappointing. The update kept all my radio stations but deleted all my navigation bookmarks!! WTF?!?!? [???]

The other issue I'm still having is the Bluetooth...Where do I Start!!...I have the Samsung Droid Charge and have it paired to the Bluetooth. I still see issues with MyFord Touch keeping a steady connection even after this update. The first day after the flash update it was working awesome. The weird thing is that I can play Bluetooth audio no problem but the MyFord Touch says disconnected and "Connect a Phone" but the audio is still playing!! If I were to shut off the Bluetooth audio playing in the car, I would have to "reconnect" the Bluetooth from the phone to the car (the phone says that its been connected this whole time) in order to have full function of everything. I'm not sure if I'm explaining everything right here guys.

Anybody having the same issues as I am? If so, any cures?

Is the touch screen still bass ackwards? If so check out THIS post.

My guess is the update did not get installed right or something failed during install. I would simply take it back to the dealer and complain about it.

No, the backwards thing the Tech's fixed before they gave it to me. They made sure that issue was resolved. I maybe should have explained that a little better on this thread, lol. Sorry man.

I think its your droid that's the problem, a quick google search shows that many people are having problems with the charge's bluetooth in car systems.

I did Google that issue about 2 weeks. People were speculating that the MyFord Touch update would of resolved the issues for the most part.

Guess Not! Another fail for the MyFord Touch Team lol [rant]

I just got part of the latest update on my car. Waiting on a new part so it can be reflashed since it failed. One thing that has worked well is the Bluetooth on my EVO 4G.

Just got mine updated yesterday. It is noticeably quicker at performing just about everything. I swear it gives you more "pay attention to the road" warnings when you're connecting stuff than it used to. Bluetooth audio to my iPhone is much more consistent - it's worked every time.

So far so good.

I am taking mine in tomorrow morning for the new update so hopefully this will be the end of the annoyances I have with MFT so far. I really hope the update doesn't make things worse as some users have said. crossing fingers!!

Had mine done today. Just got the car this past Thursday. Only had a few minor issues with MFT, but wanted to get the update done. My wife took the car in this morning. They gave her a loaner, and she went on her way. After about 4 hours, they called and said it was ready. When she got to the dealership, the tech pulled the car around, and informed my wife that MFT was totally unresponsive! Long story short, they still have the car. Tech says he needs to contact Ford tomorrow to try to resolve the issue.

That actually blows my mind. The Tech guy told me before they worked on mine that I could do the update myself if I wanted too. I laughed (after he walked away) after he told me that the MFT was backwards. Right!....I'm not gonna take any chances. I would rather put the blame on them rather than myself, lol.

I do notice the little things are far as performance though. The lady talking to me is more annoying now.

bcornea, that whole "do the update yourself " is pretty funny. No way I would even consider attempting that. I just hope they figure out whats wrong with mine, without taking a week, lol!

Mine was done yesterday and knock on wood.....it works great so far. Very responsive and the iPhone 4 I have works great with it......so far.

[???]Took mine in to a couple dealerships for the update so far. The first one told me that they couldn't download the update from Ford after I wanted two hours. The second one said they couldn't do the update because they couldn't get the USB to connect, so they have to replace a module that would take two weeks to get and there was no point in scheduling another appointment until they got the part. [mad] Ford Customer Service is helping now, but even after that it's still going to be a week before they can get me in for an appointment and it will take three procedures over two days to fix. So tired of dealing with this... on a car I just got and paid $27k for...

Both dealers told me that it wasn't due to the nature of this particular update, as it's huge and changes a lot of things in the system. I'm glad that I let them try to do it, with all the complications that they had.

According to my dealership's "radio specialist".....they have to do it. Almost a 2-hour thing to do.

Oldpueblo: They claim that you can do it yourself. But personally, I wouldn't do it. Have the dealership do it and if they mess something up, you can put the blame on them. hehe []

I had CHRONIC MFT/Sync issues with my sedan. I dropped it off this past Monday to get the latest update and it was ready the next day.

So far, its been a major improvement. I've not had a single freeze or glitch yet. The system feels more responsive than before, though I hardly call it snappy - there is a definite lag on some functions, like calling up an artist or particular song on my MP3 player (iPod Touch). I attribute that more to I/O access than MFT itself. I've haven't had any issues with my iPhone 4 via BT either. It just works - which wasn't the case on the old software.

I'd also like to say something nice about my dealership, Louisburg Ford (Louisburg, KS). They provided me with a loaner, and when I picked up my car, it was washed, vacuumed, dressed and had a full tank of gas. Great service department and my sales guy is amicable.

Yeah I couldn't imagine someone being able to do it themselves. My car was taken in for the update at 8:30 this morning and I still have not gotten a phone call that its ready. I'm hoping its finished by days end of work so I can swing by on my way home. I hope its all going well, but I wasn't expecting it to take this long.

Oh and by the way.. When I was there this morning the girl said they had to charge me $50.00 to get the update and I then said no way!!! I told them that there is supposed to be NO charge for this at all and that I dont even want it if I have to pay for it. I then told them allllll the glitches and things that have been going on, on a daily basis and they were quick to say "ok, you have nothing to worry about then". So apparently the "free" update for MFT is only free if you HAVE issues with your system. If not, it looks like they are charging. Who knows.. every dealer is different I guess.
