I need to get a secondary key for my focus. I have 1 original one. I dont want to spend the $300 at the dealership for the key and programing. Is there any other cheaper option? I know I can get a matched key but it would need to be cut and programmed. I'd need it to start the csr and use the locks and stuff.
Thank you!

I guess i can give you the Redneck option. I zip tied the transponder key to the receptor behind the ignition module …..and made replacement 3 keys at Walmart. As long as the transponder is within a few feet of the ignition you basically by-pass it. of course mine was a manual transmission and no car thief would touch it. I can leave it unlocked and the keys in the ignition. NO ONE can drive a stick anymore.

I'm pretty sure you can do it with Forscan.

I agree that using FORscan will help.
I’ve used it to program keys to my 2005, when I only had one key.

Question; do you have a regular chipped key Or a remote & key in one?
