ive decided im going supercharged. has anyone purchased the supercharger from focussport? if so is it good stuff?

ok so i have a slight opinoin on going supercharger for your car......my idea of it is a supercharger takes engine hp to make boost and since our cars dont exactly put that much hp down i mean mabey not a awsome idea but it is your car.......turbo takes no power to make boost lol.......just my little input

the focussport supercharger kit is a good kit but you will see an increase of about 60-70 hp to the wheels, it doesnt put out much psi and is basically a tuner kit. if you want a supercharger for your zetec look into the jrsc w/ bbk upgrade and big boost kit. that is about the same price and is used a lot more around here than the focussport one. Superchargers are great, they require little to no maintenance and will give you instant power with very little lag if any. so my advice is look for the JRSC kit.

root charger is a nice kit, like the jrsc, but i beleive the comapny spot making Supercharger for the focus now along with the svt model. procharger is the way to go. very easy install.

ya, they don't make the JRSC's any more, but you can still buy them from ford. and there is no lag, you are always running boost, even at idle!!

well, not quite.
yes you are always blowing air into the intake manifold, but the diverter valve is dumping it back before the blower. so at idle you are just moving air around (At 15" Hg of vacuuum)
