Hi, I just picked up a 2005 Focus ST yesterday, and am looking to upgrade the sound system. I'm going to be putting an Eclipse CD5000 Head Unit in first, and need some information on how to remove the bezel surrounding the stock head unit and also a wiring diagram if that is available.

I will also be putting CDT Braxials in the doors with an amp (haven't decided which one yet) and I'll also be throwing in my Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 sub in as well.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there, Im a new owner too, and new to these forums. Ive taken the front bezel off of my 06 and its the same. Super easy to do.

That write up is as good as anything I could do, but the pictures are down.

Id also suggest reading everything in the How-To thread:

Tons of great info, not necessarily towards 05/06's, but suprisingly most of it is still relevant.

Hope that helps some, I know theres wiring diagrams for the HUs too.

[welcome] to the forum

Have some BBQ at the Plaza for us.

CDT is pretty good. If you're not sure about the sound, simply replace the tweeters.

Are you looking for a single 4ch amp setup? (bridging 2ch for the sub)

What's your price range for the amp or amps?

I'm not really sure what I'm going to do yet. I just sold my '03 Explorer XLT and I already have the Infinity Perfect 12 in a box and I have an MTX mono class D amp that puts out 210 watts to 4 ohms (420 into 2 ohms but my sub is single voice coil 4 ohms). I could use that, but I want to give the sub more power...something like 300-350 watts. It's rated for 350 watts RMS.

I haven't decided whether I'm going to use a separate amp for the front components or run them off a single amp with the sub. I'm also going to be replacing the rears with a 5x7 or something similar pair for rear fill.

Any suggestions?

Oh, the price range I'm looking at is probably around 300-400 for the amp or amps, possibly more depending on what I need. I could always sell my current MTX amp to put toward the new one.

For a single amp setup, find an Arc Audio 4150XXK. They go used for around $400 plus shipping. There's a new one on eBay for $530 shipped, but that might be too much for ya.

Search for used 4150XXK or 4150CXL amps on eBay or:

This guy, Art Wiggins, has a 4150XXK that he's been trying to sell for 2 or 3 months. He's an Arc Audio rep. I bought his 2500XXK. The only problem is he doesn't accept PayPal. He wants $425 shipped, but I'm sure he'll do less. I think the amp has one scratch on it. http://forum.elitecaraudio.com/showthread.php?threadid=130213

Zed Audio 4ch Draconia new for $388 plus shipping.

Both amps do around 90w RMS per channel, and 300-350w bridged at 4 ohms.

For a little more power, a little less money, but also a little less quality:
Alpine MRV-F545 for $325 plus shipping, new at ikesound.com

2ch amps:
Arc Audio 2100XXK
Zed Audio Gladius
Elemental Designs Nine.2x (might be a little bright for the CDT tweeters)(eD sells CDT based speakers, so you may like it) You could buy 2 eD Nine.2 amps, 1 for 100w x 2ch, and 1 for 400w bridged.

I gotta tell ya, the 4150XXK amp is one of the best amps available, period. DetroitBass used to sell them, he's a good source. Hey wait, I think he may have one for sale as well. Send him a PM.
