There is a possibility the new svt will be boosted. Tell me if I'm crazy. The svt website has a tag under the focus saying " new details coming soon"...the ford deals on 2003 svt's are pretty good, trying to move old stock . 3. muscle mustangs and fast fords magazine has some spy pictures of 3 foci with raised louvered hoods from a dearborn parking lot.. They also printed a blurb saying they looked and the cars all had innercoolers..Remember, these guys predicted the blown cobra the merc marauder and the mach one before they came out!!

Should we all start emailing or snail mailing svt to say to do it, this kind of thing does make a dif. in something coming out..the mach 1 stang exists because the magazine and its readers kept saying to build it, remember svt is run by enthusiasts.
I'll start by saying I have sent them a snail mail about it and talked to them on the phone about it!! Anyone else willing?? I WANT A BLOWN SVT!!!( ZX5) or a wagon, but I know I'm dreamin now!

What would be great, is if they not only released a blown SVT, but they also released all the associated hardware for current SVT owners to mod up via their dealers. So for like $4k, you could get an "engine upgrade"--including limited warranty or something.

Hmmm. Time to write some folks, eh?

I second that motion.

I guess we write to someone at SVT and try to get them on our side. Shoot for the top? John Colletti? Or is there an SVT Focus liason? Heck, I still haven't gotten my SVTOA packet yet--so I don't know what our options are here.

I have a feeling Ford is just going to say, "Sell your recently purchased SVT, take a hit in depreciation, and just buy a brand new SVT if you want a blown one with a warranty." Who knows, that might be CHEAPER.

Ford should take a page out of Toyota's book (or also DaimlerChrysler's) and offer that package over the counter in the parts department, for install by the dealer with a warranty, just like someone suggested above. That would be nice, and if those companies can do it, why not Ford?

I agree with you SVT4ME, Ford should offer factor supercharging with a warranty. It could be a good market to bring in lots of cash for their whole vehicle line-up. Trucks benefit greatly from superchargers, and people with work trucks that tow a lot would probably love this offered for them without voiding the warranty. It's simply something fun for people like us with these subcompacts though. Ford would have to increase it's insurance if it offered warrantied superchargers as an add on. It's a reasonable concept though.

Since I have heard and read that Ford themselves read these Forums, I hope they are taking note in this thread. No selective reading please.

They do, the jrsc is a ford factory sold speed part and I'm sure you could get it installed at the dealer, I don't know about the warranty you would have to check..I friend who did the toyota one because at the dealer he was still under warranty, the boost is not crazy, but its a nick kick in the pants thats always there.. I agree with Garyk, what you are looking for is going to come out from vortech...it will be 5 grand instead of 4 but its there. I think they will make a new blown motor either off the pzev or the zetec personally, the svt had a few funky things for a blower, like the dual mass wierdo flywheel...Gary, had any problems with that flywheel? or is it already gone?

So the Vortech engineered-under-FORD/SEMA-agreement supercharger setup is going to NOT void the warranty on your engine should it be determined to be the cause of engine damage? That's news, isn't it? Can someone from Vortech or Ford confirm that?

And can someone explain why you can order an honest-to-God Ford Racing Performance Part a la Jackson Racing Supercharger, get it installed, even by a dealer, and basically say bye-bye to your engine's warranty*... BUT if you order a Vortech supercharger setup engineered under the FORD/SEMA initiative, you 1) still get a computer that can be diagnosed by a regular Ford dealer, and 2) still have some sort of engine warranty left?

Basically, how they heck does it work that FORD "sponsors" an aftermarket blower that voids your engine warranty, but when Vortech sells their own, you're somehow "OK"?

Brain... hurts...

Sincerely,

Beetle

* yeah, yeah, Magnuson-Moss act of '75 and all that--but YOU try and tell a dealer they have to PROVE your supercharger was the root cause of some minor engine problem that probably would have arisen even WITHOUT a supercharger. They're gonna laugh and say, 'YOU prove it WASN'T, buddy. Who's next?!"

I honestly dont see that happening seeing as how ford has already developed a new platform for the 2nd gen focus which is currently in use in europe in the C-MAX. And its not like the cars failed to sell I see at least 15 or 20 foci's a day where I live so I really dont think that will happen.

I have been told this by several people at our local dealer, I hope they are all wrong, who knows, but I like the Foci and would like to see it around for some time. I'm still holding out for the boosted SVTF from Ford......then I will trade my 03.[thumb]

Its wishful thinking for me as well. But now I think alot of evidence suggestes it may come to pass. I agree that I see alot of foci on the road around here. The 4 door sedan is everywhere in Baltimore and I see alot of them in the suburbs.

Man we get a thread like this about every week don't we. But anyways, personsaly I don't think Ford even knows what's it's going to do with the SVT Focus. Yes there are FI SVT's being tested by Ford. They came out a little while after the SVT went into production. MotorTrend was the first one to show spy shots of it. But I doubt Ford will put them into production. I think Ford is still testing the next Mustang. The Mustang will have to be significantly quicker than the Focus. So once they get done testing the Mustang and see how quick they can make the car then they will decide what they want to do with the Focus. I know one thing the price will definately go up as Ford is increasing prices for all of it's new models and I just found out that the USA won't get the all new Focus platform until 2006. The Europeans get it in 2005, but we will just get a restyled car with significantly restyled interior.
