I was looking at the stickies for a how to on painting my mesh. I've never painted anything and i want it to look good even though it's just mesh. So do I just get a can of spray paint and do it or what? What about all that clear coat stuff and all? I am ignorant!!! HAHA!!! Also, do i have to take the mesh out to paint it or can i just tape a bunch of stuff off and then paint... actually, you know what, that'd be a really bad idea. One gust of wind and the spray could end up on the bumper.... So i better take it out, lol. Any help you guys can give is appreciated. Ty. SPACE

you could always put a lot of carpenters blue tape around the mesh grille so it wont get all over your car, i would say get some paint that is used for mesh (whatever its made of) you could sand it down and then just paint over it and after that drives give it a clearcoat, i just recently repainted my plastic grill's on my svt and i just used krylon plastic paint to do it and it looks great. hope this helps any

Helps a lot man, thanks. I bought some dark gray krylon plastic paint and I'm probably gonna try it out on some extra mesh tomorrow. Do I need to sand it down? It's silver right now so... that isn't its natural color is it? lol, shows how much i know. It doesn't look like it but what do i know.

The point of this forum is to help people with things they don't know. Asking questions is good and advised before you do any work. [thumb]

Posting pics IS mandatory after you finish a project though haha [hihi] Good luck

I had a similar problem recently. My F2 mesh was black when I got it and then it just turned silver where the air passes thru it. Someone on here suggested bar-b-q paint so I went to lowes and got some Rust-Oleum Specialty High Heat spray paint and it has done the job. It has a nice flat black look to it and water just beads right off.
Worked like a charm. I will have to see how long it lasts. So far it has been great!

i did this to my svt, like u said use the plastic spray paint, use light coats and do it a lot! the lighter the coat less chance for runs! i did like 10 coats cant even tell i painted it., just make sure u wet sand and clean the grille before painting.
