Okay ya'll I sold some speakers and a box that I had and i want to get springs i can get them cheaper than anywhere advertised cause my friend will give em to me a tcost for him.

I know i should get both dampers and springs but i cant afford it right now and well by the time i kill my stock one i should be able to afford the new ones. I need some feed back from you guys on the springs you have.

I know Chris has the dropzones that ended up not dropping the car.

Any one also do the drop the way i am going to springs but no dampners ?

PLEASE HELP !!!!!

I did. Just springs, no dampers. My springs are Apex, and give a 1.5" drop. Very nice look, ride is not too bad, rougher than stock, but that's to be expected. Handling is awesome.

I bought mine from McNew's, I think I paid something like $189. Cost of installation was about $200, without alignment. I really didn't need an alignment afterwards because the shop I took it to knew what they were doing.

I have a 1.8 drop via Progress springs with no new struts/springs. I'm telling you right now, unless you're going to waste a day installing the springs yourself, do NOT just get springs. It'll cost you an assload to get the springs done first, and the struts/shocks done at a later date(of which you have to do eventually). I searched all around town for someone to install JUST springs. Everyone wanted 150-250 for just springs. I eventualy just went to the ford dealership i usually go to and asked one of the mechs in the garage to help me out, he said 80, I talked him down to 60, and eventually 50. So I got it done cheap, but still, the ride is getting wishy washy. Whenever you go over waves in the road, you bounce a bit. I can handle it, but if you're cruising around with your ladyfriend, she'll prolly get sick.

before i had the cup kit, i had the h&r sport springs. they advertise a 1.5" drop, but actually settle to 2.0" drop in the front, 1.9" rear. sets nearly level. it's dope. handles incredibly.

Cool cool, thanks

But man they wanted to charge you crazy cash for the install. The is a new type of tire kingdom down here called tk performance just a really expensive rim place owned by tire kingdom, and they quoted me 150 for everything springs dampners sway bars and urethane bushings for the install.

Since i will proly just buy cheaper brands springs now(sell em on ebay when i have lots of cash to drop on a full kit) i will install these myself (with my friend at his own shop) . The alingment on the focus isnt hard to do just one adjsutment can be done on the tire really unless you buy a kit. Either way my boys shop is right next to an alignment shop and im sure they will hook it up with the price.

I agree with CowsGoMoo, about dampers and springs. Double work, double pay and remember, with the springs on the stock dampers will be off sooner than before. I can tell you for the H+R springs that are good and the Eibach(from other members).

I have full set of Sachs, so I cant tell you of mine.

argh... yep, send those v2's back, probably won't install right, and if they do, you'll end up having to buy new ones in less than a year, that's if they even drop the car down. You get what you pay for when it comes to your suspension. And installing it yourself would be a total bitch. First off you need the car above the ground. You have to take the struts off, get a spring compressor, take the springs off and reinstall the new ones, find a way to get the struts back on, then do the rear (which isn't as bad), did i mention you'll want an impact gun/torque wrench/spring compressor? I have access to most of the tools, and i have the know-how, and i still didn't do it, too much work and it's worth shelling out a bit of cash for me. I got mine done for 50 bucks, well worth it, hell even 100 would be worth it.

I went with Sprint springs. AWESOME performance, 1.8" drop F/R. Rougher ride than stock but not unpleasant. Great quality at an unbeatable price, everyone out here in Colorado is selling sprint springs nowdays. Lifetime warranty too! I paid around $250 installed for my set, check it out! http://www.sprintspring.com

Forgot to add, they are linear springs not progressive like Eibach. For those who dont know linear means the spring has the same spring rate throughout the entire spring, where as progressive springs are softer at the ends and stiff in the middle, the spring rate changes

Progressive = Softer Ride
Linear = Stiffer Ride with better performance

I installed my springs, dampers and sway bars.........to tell you the truth it wasn't all too difficult. The hardest part was the front sway bar.......needed a lot of room to get to a couple of the bolts and to eventually just get the damn thing outta there. Took me around 6 hrs for the entire setup, but was much better than spending 250 for some douchebag to do it. I say do it yourself......Eibach came with instructions, but most of it was pretty straight forward.
