Ok... so i found a damn good deal on euro rims WITH tires already mounted... my queston to you: do you think i will be able to drive the summer and fall with these tires? and yes, i know theres a nail in one, as soon as i pick them up, im stopping and getting it repaired so i can mount these

im really, really excited about getting these.... i have the stockers on my car now, the 16 inch, with eagle rsa tires.. which are crap... the euros i am getting have the stock svt conti's... so do you think these will last the summer and fall? i plan to get new tires this comming spring(2007) but im hoping that these will last for now..

looks to me like there might be 5/32nds of tread left on them, maybe 6. those tires are close to the danger zone as it is. you should be able to get through the summer, though.

as far as getting that tire repaired, it might be a little too close to the sidewall to do a patch. the patches have to be relatively flat in order to work properly. i would say buy a couple new tires for now and slap them on the front, and buy two more next spring.

just my 2 cents.

It depends on how many miles you'd be putting on them during the summer and fall...if those were mine, I'd definitely be thinking about replacing them; the wear bands are starting to show.

You should be good for about 1/2 the summer. Seeing as you drive quite a bunch, try and pull some overtime and get atleast 2 tires now and two at the end of summer or something. the tires on the back of the car wont wear down as fast either. I drove on tires like that for a summer in my old mustang. its possible, but hard, slow driving during rain and leave plenty of distance.

I've had a nail closer to the sidewall than that, and was able to get it fixed just fine.

Most points are covered about how long you'll get out of the tires before needing replacing.
I'd add, at this point in those tires' life, I wouldn't want to drive them in the rain at all,
let alone, if you get any snow in the fall.

I take it, the SVTF wheels will be for summer, and you'll put the stockers back on for winter?

looks like the svt those came off of was lowered (judging by inner wear) they dont look horrible thought..put the worst 2 on the rear of your car...and save...you can get a set of descent 17inch tires for under $400...

lol.. im calm....my viwepoint stands firm tho... especially since i got these for practically nothing... My tax return paid for the majority of these.. and my tax return was small...lol i know where youre comming from tho... in fact, had i not been able to get new rims, i would have been painting mine too... previous owner curb rashed the hell out of one of the rims, and the paint is chipping on one of them too....
