I went to a local place here in Tucson, AZ called "The Specialist" and they offer different levels of tint and was a little confused about each. Actually, I wouldn't say I was confused, more like the salesman was giving me his "pitch" and I really didn't want to hear it..haha. Anyway, they offer 3 levels of tint. They are as follows and a summery of what the salesman told me:

$150 Dye Tint - Is a dye based tint and will fade in 2-3 years.

$185 Metallic Tint - will fade in 5 years, but may interfere with electronics on the car??? WTF...I guess

$305 Ceramic Tint - Has the most heat reflection and will never fade.

(Price includes all front and back windows)

All tint comes with lifetime warranty against fade and bubbles. Even the lower end ones, once they fade, they will replace for free. Does anyone know if it's worth getting the ceramic? I found another place here in Tucson that uses "3M" Tint and will do the ceramic for $149 with a lifetime warranty. She also offered me their "Nanotech" Tint for $299.

Any help will be appreciated[thumb].

The dye tint sucks because they do fade which makes ur windows lighter then what they are "supposed" to be and even if u get that then once they fade u got warranty to get it fixed. Its your call really but if u can find the best stuff for cheap i would go with that. I would go with the best "sun out" tint u can find for a good price since its hot where you are.

find a place that tints with LLumar tint its best stuff out there...anything else is less...also look for a shop that has a lifetime warranty against fading, peeling, cracking, demetalization and color change. if your spending good money to get tint you want to get something worth while

Metalized as a minimum, but ceramic if you can afford it. Those are the only 2 choices.

Go with Sun-Gard, Llumar, 3M, Solarguard or Huper Optik.

I live tin Tucson as well, and AZ law says that the front tint can not be lower than 33%. But can have limo tint (5%) the rest of the way around, not including the windshield...but that should go without saying...haha
