My Svt Focus is dying when I'm in neutral. (not all the time)
it hits the idle and then drop and die.

the battery light is also poppin everytime.

I installed a brand new battery last week.
brand new taylor spark plug wires since august.
brand new SP463 cooper spark plugs since 2 weeks.
brand new K 'N drop in square air filter last week.

the car is completly stock. Exept for the halo headlights. Before I changed the battery the check engine light was on. Since the new one is on the check engine light has not popped out yet.


Since the new battery is on it seems worse but it seems like a coincidence to me.

it'S really cold here sometimes and sometimes it's wet/humid?

i just posted this about days ago.
same thing.
but try changing the fuel filter.
or go to autozone and have the alternator checked and battery.

and clean your throttle body.

Yo, i heard that in the US the ethanol levels create more debris which can clog the fuel filter. I would recommend changing that as it's not really such a hard task. Also does your battery light flicker? if so maybe it's a loose ground or alternator. Although i think alternators tend to just go out on their first signs they don't really have pre going out of service signals lol. good luck

well i searched on other websites and noticed that the battery light problem would be the alternator adapter not the alternator itself. For the other problem it would be the iac (idle air control) that needs cleaning or to changed.

i dont think it's the alternator. well i hope but i really think it's the adapter and that iac valve.

They are checkin this out next monday and they will change my fuel filter at the same time.

If the battery light is coming on once your engine is dying(idling slower than it is suppose to) that is normal at least for the battery light and it should do that. If that is the case all you need to do is figure out why it is dying at idle. Could be the idle air controller. Would be something to check.

no the battery light is coming on for about a second and disapear while i'm driving.

yup alternator has to be me back in the day when i had a ford escort and the alternator went out and the battery light comes on when you rev the motor the battery light goes off for whatever technical reason .
