I have serious issues being lied to. I made it clear to them I wouldn't come in to their dealership since they didn't honor X plan or honor the Zagg pricing which lead me to their dealerships website. Well second phone call was from the new car sales manager, who stated they would honor the price I just need to come in and sign the forms. So I, being the dumb shmuck I am, went into the dealership. Got my trade appraised and waited while they "worked the numbers" two hours later, I get my salesman and tell him I am leaving and voila! I was ushered into the managers office. After another thirty minutes of him telling why the X-plan wasn't out on the 2012 Focus Titanium HB and that even Zagg pricing wasn't available for this vehicle yet. That I would have to wait at least six months before those programs had prices published for the new Focus. Well as most everyone on here knows, finding the 2012 Focus HB Titanium fully decked out, is hard to come by, and I needed the vehicle - so I bit the bullet and signed paying several thousand more then invoice for Focus.
So imagine my dismay when telling my best friends dad (Ford Employee) about the Focus not being eligible for the X-Plan and him telling me I am full of shit. After spending fifteen minutes on the phone he had the X-plan pricing for the vehicle. So the very next day I was in the dealership, pointing out they lied to me which of course they are stating they never lied, that they told me the truth the entire time.
So I have been speaking with Ford every day this week and have made some promising progress. I am asking for the dealership to either cut me a check for the difference, OR give me an ESP covering my Focus bumper to bumper till I have 100K on the clock, OR give me prepaid service until my factory 3yr/36K bumper to bumper warranty expires. I would be completely happy with any of those options, and the later two would not cost the dealership nearly the amount of gross they made off of me.
So the unethical practices are blatantly lying to their customers. They could have been honest and said that the dealership is choosing to not honor the X-Plan price or Zagg price, however by stating the prices aren't available because how new the vehicle is, leads customers to believe they are stuck paying whatever they can negotiate off of the MSRP. Instead of telling me the truth that I could drive twenty minutes down the road to another Ford dealer and buy or order a Focus with the X-Plan pricing.
