Hi,

I recently towed my car to the garage because it would not start. It sat for three months. It whirs and that is it, it won't turn over. They ahve tried a new starter. Are there any common things that could cause this? I am freakign out because the gas station is charging me a fortune in labour and they don't have a computer to hook it up to.

We need more info than that.

Year / model?
Does the starter spin?
Was it running and cut out, or did it not start from cold?

your car is at a gas station?? they pump gas, not work on cars.
IMO you should take it somewhere else. if the starter just "whirls" than it may not be bolted up tight or some teeth is knocked off the flywheel.
