hey guys as some of you may no i just installed a new AEM CAI and the bastards sold me the wrong size bypass valve...well it arrived today but wont have time to go pick it up till probably wednesday...anyways were spost to get rain tongiht and am totally scared shitless that its gonna be wet out in the morning when i drive to work is there anything i can do to stop rain from getting into it and ruining my engine??? just a quick temp fix??

As long as you dont run into any giant puddle you'll be fine.

so spray from a transport truck on a highway will be fine im so nervous driving in the morning its pouring out and im worried about this

It would have been people run it while its raining and havent had problems. But with that chunk missing behind the filter it wont be. Your tire well be throwing water at it. I'd do something about that.

i drive mine all the time without a bypass valve, no problems yet. i've had to knock a coating of mud off of it, but still no problems.

for your car to suck up any water, the filter would have to be roughly 3/4 submerged. think about it for a second, the tb on your car is about 2-3 feet ABOVE the filer, and there is about 4 ft of 2.5" or 3" pipe between your filter and the tb. it would take a hellova lot more suction than your motor can produce to get enough water through the restriction of the of the filter and all the way up to the engine to mess things up.

i like that filter sheild it would be a good idea to keep it clean, but i would get the bypass valve for piece of mind
yeah i'll get one when i get the battery out of the way. but its raining hard today and i never have a problem.

you can also get somekind of cover like thing for it too .... I will try to find the thread....gimme a bit. We had it in our D-tec chat I will look.
