This is the type of thinking that would persuade to looking at Mazda for my next car. I average about 60,000Km (37,000 miles) per year. My warranty is usually gone in a year.

A lot of good PR at a fairly low cost, the warranty battles continue.

Many products carry a lifetime warranty "against factory defects". We all know how that can work out, some take care of their customers while others seldom pay out for any problems.

Excessive extension of new vehicle warranties exerts pressure in this direction, IMHO it's better to have a shorter warranty that is honored even for possibly questionable claims than a long one that only takes care of blatant defects.

As an aside, some of those 100,000 mile warranties are shown to be extremely difficult to use. Between denial of warranty, requirement to have used only dealer servicing.. Google some of the complaints about car companies which offer those long standard warranties.. And be amused/horrified.
Not saying Mazda will be like that. But usually everything has a cost and a downside.

Okay I'm reading the article you posted and the official release from Mazda and you are correct. The small print in the ad is actually somewhat misleading haha
