Hey guys, My focus has been starting up louder than ever in the morning the past two weeks. It has never sounded so loud before and i'm wondering if its maybe a battery problem. I have had the same battery for 8 years and over 100,000 miles, is it time for a new one? Thanks.

Never heard of a battery causing a loud start up .Could be possible that you have an exhaust gasket leak or maybe a hole in the exhaust somewhere.

Exhaust leak sounds probable. Any other symptoms? Smoke, smell, or harder to start?

What does the noise sound like?

How are the motor mounts. They seem to make the car sound louder, especially when cold.

It could be your exhaust flex pipe, your description exactly fits. The passenger side motor mount, when it goes, leans the engine and puts pressure on the flex pipe. It leaks until the exhaust warms up.
