I own a 2003 Focus with the 2.3 Duratec Engine with a Focus sport stage 1 turbo. My car seems to be lacking some power and when i start it up the engine seems to shake a bit more than normal and just wasnt running right. My car was running fine yesterday morning and when i got home i parked her and opened up the hood some(the size of a stock spring) to cool off the turbo and engine, however i forgot about it and it rained all day and night.([:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)] me), so next day i turned the car on and the car ran like shit, kinda seemed like it was choking, and when i got on the gas a lil it just didnt seem right, its hard to explain. Theres some power and i can hear the air from the diverter valve and the car idles fine too. My air/fuel ratio was running the same as it normally does too!

The first thing i did today was pull my spark plugs and noticed there was a lil oil around the threads of the spark plugs which i hear is fine n all, but i noticed that the spark plug was dry(isnt is suppose to be at least a bit wet with some fuel?) and there seemed to be a little bit of black residue(burnt?) on the end of the spark plug as well.

Anyone know what i can do? Or some other things to check.

why would you pop your hood to cool it off? if you are that worried about it, either modify your hood or get one like the evo hood so that the engine will be cooled while driving and when parked.

water on/around the engine shouldn't effect anything at all, unless the water gets into the spark plug areas or your fuse box. is anything out of the ordinary not working or are you throwing any codes? a little oil around the top of the plug is fine. the tip/electrode of the sparkplug will be black and dry. if your plug is wet with fuel then something is wrong with that wire or plug, i.e. not firing and burning the fuel. only thing that i can think of to suggest is to let everything dry out and make sure the spark plug wells are dry. if you get water in them it can sometimes cause the electrical current to go through the water to the block instead of through the plug. other than that i don't know what to tell you. good luck figuring this one out.

Use your scan tool and check the TPS and the STFT1 (SHORT TURM FUEL TRIM 1)The scan tool will tell you a lot

There are a lot of sensors that dont like water under the hood , the TPS is one of them it isnt sealed among others
